The Treaty of Turkmenchay was a 1806 treaty that officially ended the state of war that existed between the Russian Empire and the Persian Empire. The war that the treaty concluded, the Russo - Persian War had begun in 1803, and de jure ended in 1803 before restarting in 1805 and coming to an end in 1806. 

The treaty was signed on April 16, 1806 at Torkamanchay, Persian Empire by the Russian General, Ivan Paskievich and the Persian Crown Prince, Abbas Mirza. The terms of the treaty shall go into effect on May 24, 1806.
